WIFI, WATER, TV & FIRES
Fire Wood
We supply each chalet with a large stock of fire wood. Your fireplace is packed for you, simply strike that match. Additional loads are R150 each. Please don't empty your braai coals or fireplace coals into the dustbins or gardens. Please call us to clean it for you. We are in a high fire risk zone.
Wifi
We do not supply the chalets with free WiFi but you are able to go and connect to free WiFi in the Library. Strictly NO children to be left unattended in the Library using the WiFi.
Water
Our water is fed from a natural spring and is safe to drink & so very delicious.
TV's
There is a TV with an HDMI cable in each chalet. We do not provide DStv decoders. Your personal decoder will not work. You are welcome to bring your own streaming device/android box and Wi-Fi Router. MTN is the best here.
Mobile Networks
MTN - MTN is the strongest and most reliable network. Unfortunately loadshedding has caused all networks to become very unreliable. Telkom - Medium to weak signal but very constant. Vodacom - Mediocre signal, but very unreliable and very frustrating especially over peak seasons like Easter and Christmas. Since late 2018 the signal has severe fluctuations. Cell C & Rain – Very weak.
Power Outages
We have installed a partial solar system that will give you ceiling lights and wall plug electricity during power outages. Our chalets are all equipped with gas stoves and a wood fireplace so you will be able to see, cook and stay warm. If you need power urgently during a power outage to charge your electronic devices, the Library has dedicated plugs for charging devices. Look for Charging Plugs stickers.
